Abstract
This study addresses the pressures facing Xuzhou’s intangible cultural heritage under modernization and examines the value of digital technology for its protection and transmission. Using literature review, case analysis, and field research, it systematically reviews local preservation work and digital practice.
The findings identify an emerging multi-stakeholder mechanism and a digital framework spanning collection, management, and display. These practices extend public reach, while ageing inheritors, technical cost, and the difficulty of retaining the living character of heritage remain significant challenges. The paper therefore argues for a pathway that coordinates cultural context, appropriate technology, and public participation.
